The Cleveland Browns were on Monday Night Football for what felt like the 39th time this season. How idiotic is ESPN? Is it that difficult to forecast games? Here's a little background story on the Cleveland Browns: They've been horrible forever, had one good, non-playoff season last year at 10-6 and suddenly they're on prime time every week. So if ESPN is going to put the Browns on primetime, at least do it in the beginning of the season before everyone realizes how much they suck and how their 10-6 season last year was an aberration.
There is an easy solution. Put the upstarts from the previous season that aren't normally good on the primetime in the beginning of the season and put the big market franchises and teams that have a track records of putting up quality seasons towards the end of the season. This means putting the Colts or Pats in week 12 or 13, not week 1. Chances are the Colts and Pats are going to be good at the end of the season, so it's a waste of a good game. Put the upstarts (like the Browns of this season) in September before people realize how much they suck.
Are you listening ESPN? If the Dolphins or Falcons go 11-5, make a little playoff run, I want to see them play in September, not December. It's not that difficult. Make it happen.
